The International Air Cadet Exchange is an annual student exchange program designed to promote character, good-will, and cooperation among the world's civilian auxiliary aviation programs.
Cadets spend approximately two weeks every summer with their foreign counterparts, During the exchange cadets are provided housing by volunteer families and on military installations in their host nation. Scheduled activities vary depending on the host nation, but often include tours of famous landmarks and cultural institutions, tours of local aviation facilities or factories, lectures with local aviation figures and visits to military units.
Woolton also accommodated an Australian Air Force Cadet (AAFC) who was with us for four parade nights, in which time he taught our cadets about the different activities that they get up to and in return we showed him how the UK Air Cadets do things and taught him of the different methods of Leadership, Drill and Discipline that we use, all valuable information that he could take back and pass on to his cadets.
