Fieldcraft

Fieldcraft is an exciting part of any cadet’s career, but before you can start learning the basic of fieldcraft you need to know what it is.

The definition of fieldcraft is “the basic skills required to operate stealthily at day or night regardless of weather or terrain” but to us it involves getting kitted up in British Military DPM’s (Camouflage) and participating in such exercises as Escape and Evasion and Casualty Evacuation while along the way learning how to move without being seen or heard, communicate using hand signals and how to ‘Blend In’ to your surroundings.

However they are not the only skills you can pickup from fieldcraft exercises, you could be put in command of a squad of cadets that you will have to lead in order to achieve a set goal that could range from rescuing a teammate and acquiring the ‘enemy’s’ orders to guarding a set area from ‘enemy’ team members, And at the end of it all you will be having a great laugh with your mates and will want to do even more until you learn the art of "seeing without being seen".
